This decomposition adds nutrients back into the soil quicker and is less likely to develop diseases that thicker clippings may develop.2 Unlike a mulching kit, gator blades still discharge out the side. This has several benefits. With a mulching kit it is recommended that the operator only cut off a 1/3 of the grass at a time. Crowding the mulching kit can leave clumps of grass lay behind because the mulching kit cannot handle a large amount of material. Since the Gator blade disperses clippings out the side, it had handle thicker and heavier grass.3 The Gator blade is wider and in some cases thicker than the standard blade.
